Campsite info

The Laxdale caravan park, not quite what we were expecting and as the previous night had been heavy rain it was very damp under foot. The camping area is in a dip to the left of the access road. Hot and Cold showers and a camp kitchen with washing up facilities. Well laid out campsite but no vehicles allowed on the grass so everything has to be carried. Near to busy Stornoway for all your food Co-op and Tesco.

We spoke to someone in a camper van who suggested “Moorcroft” a new site.  As it was VERY wet we decided to stay in their “Bunkhouse” with a proper bed!!  Bunkhouse photos    £14 a night each.

Spent 2 nights camping at this lovely site free hot showers and camp kitchen with microwave and cooker. As well as washing machine and drier. Full disabled facilities. Chemical disposal point for passing camper vans available.  £7 per person per night for a large tent. Another great site.

Well run and good luck to them for the future.
